#MyPropertyStory: Cherished Possessions
Marcel Anisfeld
As part of this year’s #MyPropertyStory campaign, WJRO is proud to partner with 80 Objects/80 Lives, a digital exhibition that brings to life the personal belongings of Holocaust survivors and refugees. These artifacts—carried, saved, or lost—serve as lasting connections to history and remembrance.
One such treasure is an autograph book belonging to Marcel Anisfeld, who was born in Nowy Sącz, a small town in southern Galicia, Poland. During the war, he and his family were deported to Siberia and later Uzbekistan, eventually arriving in England in 1946, with his parents joining him in 1948.
Marcel handmade the autograph book from a larger book in 1945, before the war had even ended. He carried it with him from Russia to Poland, and later to England. Filled with memories from children he met in Russia, Poland, and England, it remains one of his most treasured possessions.
Join us in commemorating these treasures and the stories they tell by sharing your own family’s story. Learn more and share your story at wjro.org.il/mypropertystory
